Gird yourselves with humility

1 Peter 5:5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud and shows favour to the humble.
1 Peter 3: 10-12 “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

As the saying goes, troubles come from the mouth. This is not false at all. Because sometimes we cannot control our thoughts which causes us to easily say what is on our minds and our behaviour to be unrestricted. Ostensibly we have the freedom to do whatever we like, however that means we lack the growth of spiritual life. Left unchecked not only gives ourselves unnecessary difficulties but also we would not bring substantial help to the people around us.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18). To do this, it may be simple, but to live out Christ, it may be hard because it involves every move of our lives, requiring us to live a new life with humility, tolerance and respect; patiently listening to others' thoughts. It also requires that we allow things to happen that we do not agree with (of course, things that are not morally wrong or involves hurting other people). And respect is the basic quality we need. To respect each person's personality or lifestyle, and be able to praise and appreciate it.

May God have mercy on us, edify us to have the capability of glorifying God in our daily life, make us in all things not pleasing our own needs, but for the good of the people around us! May people see our good deeds, giving glory to the Lord and willing to know the Lord, praising the Lord!

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming” (1 Peter 1:13).

Praise the Lord!
