Read verses:
Job 33:14-18,29-30
For God does speak—one way or another—though man may not
perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men
as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with
warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his
soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. God does all these
things to a person—twice, even three times—to turn them back from the pit that
the light of life may shine on them.
We know God through dreams and visions, but also through
suffering. He even sends angels to speak to people. David, a person pleasing to
God, wrote in Psalm 62:11-12 saying, "One thing God has spoken, two things
have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done." David
knew that God "desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the
inmost place.” (Psalm 51:6). So he respected the authority of God, not only
willing to open his mind to God but
readily setting his life to walk in
God's will, willing to praise the Lord that enlightens his ways, to live life
in the house of God and enjoy God's presence forever. He knows God will show him the path of life.
In Him is fullness of joy; there are eternal pleasures at the right hand of
God.
The apostle Paul is the same: after he was enlightened
(had the vision from heaven) he regarded all things as dirt, that he may gain
Christ and his reward when He comes again. Today the gospel is preached again
and again around us. May God bless us, to not harden our hearts, refusing God's
saving grace. We all know, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone
to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9). If a person
cannot get rid of pride and greed , it is difficult for him to allow the light
of truth shine. When people see themselves as superior to others, and when
people outwardly look humble but inwardly have a stubborn heart, they will
become pitifully selfish without realizing it.
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible
qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being
understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."
(Romans 1:20). God so loved the world, he revealed himself not only through what
has been made, but the Word became flesh and he himself came into the world,
looking for the lost, in order to show the way that people and God can
reconnect, hoping that people will have the way, the truth, and the life, and
have a real peace!
